About Me

I am married with three children and will soon be a grandmother. My sons are in college and I currently home school my daughter. We live in Stanford, Kentucky. I love living in a small town, but really miss not having more art and cultural events available.

I am a self-taught quilter. My formal education was in learning and behavior disorders. I became interested in quilting seriously in 2005. I love how texture and fabric colors breathe life into the pieces. Currently my quilting and poetry seem to intermingle. I have written short poems to go along with many of my quilts. My inspiration comes from nature and current topics I have been studying. My African etheree poem inspired my large African quilt. I have studied about African Fang masks and African culture which has stirred my creativity towards quilts with an African feeling. My Indian quilt was inspired by reading about Chief Joseph and the Nez Perce Indians. My daughter’s artwork and family memories are other sources of inspiration for my quilts.

    Dear quiltfriend,
I got your mailadres from http://www.quiltinggalery.com, and I have a question to you.
My sister is, after an exiting period, finaly pregnant of her first baby.
Now I would like to make a bright-colored quilt for her. To welcome the baby to this world
with a quilt from patches from all over the world. I try to collect scraps of 12×12 cm (5×5 inch).
Do you have a piece of fabric that may be suitable, perhaps you would sent it to me.
I would really like to use it!

    Many thanks and warm greetings,
